I am, above all else, a follower of Jesus Christ. I am also a husband to Janie, father to Anna and Leah, and the Lead Pastor at North River Church in Parrish, FL. I also teach as an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University. God opened my eyes to his marvelous love and grace when I was eight years old and I placed my faith and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. He called me to ministry at the age of fourteen. I have had the privilege to study at some great universities/seminaries and have received an Associate of Science degree from Andrew College, a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Southwestern State University, a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary. I have also written a book entitled Parent-Driven Discipleship and it is available at Amazon. I love reading, writing, running, working out, mountain biking, and woodworking. I chose to name this blog Beyond The Sermon because I do have a life outside of the Sunday sermon. Hopefully, this site gives you a glimpse into my thoughts about life, ministry, family, theology, and all other sorts of things that pop up in my head.
